Vacation - L.A.

James and I got back got back from our vacation a week ago.  It was a wonderful west coast vacation full of bike riding, hiking and museums.  For the pictures I will begin with the end of our trip :) - Los Angeles, California.

We stayed at the Oceana, in Santa Monica - they had bikes that we could borrow (we highly utilized this!).  We also explored The Getty Museum on our last day before catching the red eye back to D.C.  We would love to have more time to explore on our next trip, the museum is huge!
Up next: Seattle!

Blog Love

Some new blogs I've recently discovered that I am absolutely loving:

Island Menu. Tasmanian Food & Photos.
Taken from the site: "Island Menu is a food and photography blog written by two friends with a strong focus on the use of wonderful fresh Tasmanian produce available. We aim to buy and source seasonally and locally where we can for both special occasion meals and everyday food."
The pictures are wonderful and I cannot wait to try out some of the recipes!  The way they approach cooking reminds me of my mom's cooking and growing up on my family farm. (All photos are from the Island Menu site.)
Ditte Isager.
Taken from the site:  "Photographer born and raised in Copenhagen Denmark. Living in NYC since 2006. Shooting interiors, personalities, lifestyle and travel. The style is simple nordic. Working with contrast in materials, light, color and objects. Inspiration comes from the light in the Dutch masters, storytelling and effects from motion pictures and the style, character and layers of NY."
Her photographs are so beautiful and inspiring, I find myself wanting to pin every one of them!  Here are just a few.  (All photos are from Ditte's site.)
Sometimes.
Taken from the site: "An alternative dining experience with a prefixed menu - you provide the drinks and a suggested donation."
Located in Maryland, this is close enough to my area that I will definitely need to check it out.  The food all looks so delicious and I love the concept!  (All photos are from Sometimes' site.)
